b1- Meeting guidelines

After getting the surface pattern year book and combining with the other team we had our first meeting to discuss how the group would work. We elected Robyn to be the group leader and then me as backup and we all agreed that we have the capable skills covered as a group and then sent off the confirmation email of our design team.

Some of things that we need to obtain in the first meeting with surface pattern:

Number of students
Student names and contact detail
Staff list and contact details
Introduction
Course Philosophy/Ethos
Pathways, Media, Course structure
Chapters, sections, groups
Special considerations
Do’s and don’ts
Deadlines
Meeting Schedule & Agendas

The emphasis at this stage should be clarifying content, design directions and programme specific considerations. Discussions about stock, foiling embossing etc. will come later. We are also in the process of negotiating a set of standard Blank Formats with Duffields which should give some default numbers of, paper qualities and costs by quantity of copies - (these should provide useful production and budget guidlines. At this stage an idea about how many copies each programme would (ideally) want would be useful.
